NHP is excited to announce VISTAS, our next two person show featuring works of Elana Melissa Hill & Tanya Brodsky.
In the presented work, Hill and Brodsky address the mythological qualities of imagined and factual landscapes by using painting, drawing, and sculpture. In her panoramic paintings, Hill utilizes the horizontal vista to project soft landscapes against concrete marks of urban infrastructure. Employing drawing and sculpture, Brodsky examines themoral and erotic significance of geological sites— transforming household furniture and traditional portraiture into structural supports for mountainous terrain.

Take advantage of the last night of Xu Darocha's exhibition. Come see her her latest drawing and paintings for the last time on the gallery walls, mingle with art enthusiasts and drink some home brew.
Charcoal, pastel and pencil on DaRocha's paper drawings portray the coexistence and the interaction between different forces - impulse and logic. Spontaneous splashes and strokes convey instinct and intuition; the repetitive controlled dots and lines symbolize reason and order. In her latest painting, DaRocha chooses to relinquish control by giving space and freedom to the paint itself. Bold, vibrant angels energetically cut across space in her work. DaRocha's additive color theory, layered time, gravity and trust in serendipity create haunting, luminescent images that bloom and grow before the viewer.
